Hollywood Sign - on Mt. Lee
Sitting on the top of Mt. Lee, the highest peak in the Los Angeles area, the
famous Hollywood sign can be seen from many locations. If you are visiting
Hollywood, taking a photo of the sign is a natural choice of most people.
At one time, the sign originally read 'Hollywoodland,' for a housing
development in the area. The last four letters were removed in 1945 and it has
been Hollywood ever since. You can see the sign from Hollywood and Highland
and many other places along the way.

Hollywood Bowl - 2301 N Highland Ave

amphitheaters in the state. With a seating capacity of almost 18,000 guests, the
bowl has attracted legendary performers such as Frank Sinatra, The Beatles,
Luciano Pavarotti, and many more. You can hear the finest classical music,
featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic with renowned guest artists and
conductors every Tuesday and Thursday evening throughout the Bowl season.

William Powell, Claudette Colbert, Alan Ladd, Marlene Dietrich, the Dean Martin
and Jerry Lewis comedies, the Bob Hope and Bing Crosby "Road Pictures", and
Elvis Presley made many of his movies here.

Hollywood Forever Memorial Park - 6000 Santa Monica
Boulevard

outdoor graves. You will need a map if you are going to locate any of the stars'
burial sites. You can pick up a map of the grounds as you enter the park, from the
flower shop at the main gate. The map highlights the locations of many of the
stars buried here. Interred throughout the cemetery grounds are some of the most
famous stars in the history of Old Hollywood, including Rudoph Valentino,
Douglas Fairbanks, Nelson Eddy, Peter Lorre, Janet Gaynor, Tyrone Power and
Clifton Webb.

Star Line Tours - 1-800-959-3131
If you would like to take a tour of the city area, there are several tour
operators available. The one that covers a lot of the area is the Star Line
Tours with the red doubledecker buses. They cover 13 stops on their Red Route Bus tour. You and your family can
purchase a 24 hour ticket and get off at any one of the 13 stops for awhile and
then catch the next bus to continue your tour. You can purchase your ticket from
the bus driver on any of the stops; however, it is really nice to start at
Hollywood and Highland Center at stop number 1. You can see all the sights at
